Weekend alla Bolognese

In between lots of traveling, rain storms, and heat waves here in Bologna, we got one afternoon when the weather was just right and we were both here to enjoy it. Of course granitas and gelato are always part of the mix, but just wandering around the city with no purpose other than to enjoy the surroundings is one of my favorite things.

Some photos of life around Bologna.

Simply a favorite.

Who doesn't need flowers?

Aperitivo hour behind the church.

Wandering around the mercato, and passing the fish vendor.

Summer is here and that means, fruit...fruit... and more fruit!

The heart of Bologna...Tortellini!

Movies in the Piazza!

The church next to our house. I'm always amazed when I pass by every morning.

We live next to the street of the "happy little ones." It sounds better in Italian.

For The Dever's.

Sunday we made it over to our favorite pub for the U.S.A. vs. Brazil soccer game. A great match to say the least, and some video to share in a bit!

Ciao! I am an avid follower of your blog and loved this post, which really hit close to home-literally! I lived on via D'Azeglio for a year (right around the corner from Da Cesari in the first picture) during college and returned to Bologna after I graduated to live and work for a few months. I live in Rome now but miss Bologna immensely and try to make it back as much as possible. Now I live vicariously through your adventures in my old town. Thanks!
