I Needa Granita!

Summers in Italy wouldn't be summers in Italy without la granita.

Granitas are originally from Sicily and typical to that island, but during the summer you can find them in gelaterias all over Italy. When we're at the beach in Fano, we always make sure to stop at Fru-LaLa for a granita - in particular their lemon granita. (Actually, if you're ever in Sicily make sure you get a lemon granita there because that's definitely where it's at). A new gelateria called Cremeria Funivia recently opened up in the center of Bologna similar to Fru-LaLa (so we heard) , and we figured we'd give it a try.

Yesterday, Giancarlo tried his hand at some ice cream, and I went for la granita di pompelmo rosa (the grapefruit granita). It was sooooo good, we went back today for round two feeling a bit more adventurous, not knowing that we were about to experience the holy grail of granitas.

Now that's a Strawberry-Lemonade done right!
