"F" is for Florence

A few weeks ago, friends from NYC (now London expats!) decided to come visit for a weekend. Always ever-so excited to speak English and be with friends from home, we couldn’t wait for them to arrive. We planned on spending the weekend doing a day trip to Florence and a day trip to Parma.

Welcome to Florence

Looking up to the sky

I will (hopefully) let the pictures speak for themselves (no witty, smart-ass comments this round) but Parma, hands down, has the BEST food in North Italy… at least for us in the Emilia-Romagna region. One of the greatest things we’ve realized about living in Bologna is that we are a quick, and cheap, train ride away from some of the best cities in Italy. Doesn't really get any better than that.

View of Florence

La bombolina

Il Duomo

After walking god knows how many stairs, the view from the top of the tower

And, needing a martini.....

Looking up to the sky.. again

The view off ponte vecchio

Playing a riveting game of charades on the way home from Florence

Parma treats

Traditional tortellini in broth

Famous parmigiano cheese

Doesn't get any better than this

Figuring out where we are....

Needless to say, the weekend came and went in the blink-of-an-eye, and of course we were sad to see our friends leave… but we will meet up again, in another city, for another adventure.

abito nei dintorni di Parma e l'ho sempre trovata una bella città, con un bel centro (avete visto il Teatro Farnese?); ho anche riconosciuto la vetrina di "Povinciali" :asd:
